Years of Archived News (Only Spanish) Archive Two (English) :: 2001-2003 ---------------------- December 14, 2003: By Mike War Finally we have had our 2 other speakers repaired, we had 2 gigs lately... On friday (2 days ago) we had a gig at Furby's (123 por mi) house, we were the first ones, very good gig. We played around 6 songs. Then on Saturday we went to a party, but on the way there, we found a gig, and we asked if we could play a song, so we got our chance but Oscar wasn't around so Jaime replaced him for the 'gig'. On sunday we went to D99.FM and we had like half an hour on air at the radio station. 2 of our songs were played and they asked us a few questions. So lately we have been very lucky ;) November 22, 2003: By Mike War We got a new speaker to replace the one we blew, Our studio is getting better, going back to our note on Feb 5, 2002... Yes, it's the same mac, but now we got it goin' better. Today we're cellebrating oscar's birthday (18)... yeah, more news soon. November 1, 2003: By Mike War Last night we had our (possibly) last gig at the house. 123 por mi, and Vannakut/Chilango played very good. Unluckily when we got our turn, the amp was a bit overloaded and stupidly I turned the volume of the bass drum mic's higher, which resulted in us, after playing 1 song and a half, fusing the bass-unit of a speaker. Devastating. So we had to play the rest with our small 15-watt amps, resulting in us sucking the rest of the gig. Terrible voice sound, and lacking total volume. We are soon to get 1 speaker to replace the one we blew up, and another pair to get more power. Then we will put cross-over units in the cabinet's which they were lacking and we hadn't noticed. We might have given a wrong impression but this wont be our last gig. See ya soon everybody and good luck. Ps. Hope you like the new yellow-blue web design. October 11, 2003: By Mike War We have a gig 2 days ago (the 9th) well... It was the contest 'cantale al papa'... excellent sound many people... but when we played the guitars didn't sound much... that may have been the reason for us loosing as the drums/vocals drowned all. September 27, 2003: By Mike War Gig at Uero's house was pretty good... in total, 4 bands went and played in this order: Abobbynation, us (DMR), Vannakut, Proyecto Puentes, and to end a last 'band' played pretty well :) Sound was not that bad... our PA didn't sound that well... we need more speakers :s September 20, 2003: By Mike War Today in the morning we bought our new PA (1000 watts) And 2 speakers of 500 watt's each one :) Pretty cool, and I am using my small mixer to get the inputs. Then 30 minutes later (12:00pm) we played in broad daylight at an uncle's house to about 20 people and used our PA for first time, it didn't sound that bad but we need to experiment more with it to get the hang. Then we came home and our next gig is the next week. September 15, 2003: By Mike War Today gig at Bochos house, not that bad but not that good... very soon we will be uploading pics and audio of the gig (if the audio came out alright). Good system for vocals (pa) and stuff in the gig. Thx to all the bands who supported us. Bye! September 13, 2003: By Mike War Good gig today at the 'pablo livas' highschool, check out the photos in our photo section under 'gigs'. We played 9 songs starting with Affected, and Darkchylde featuring Jimmy Roeland and then goin on with out other songs like 'your way 2 pay' and endin with Chop Suey which was our best song. September 5, 2003: By Mike War Our last gig in Xente really sucked as too many bands were called to play and we were established as the final band, all the people were leaving the establishment as we were starting to play. Some came back afterwards, still we played very good. The audio system (especially the voice system) was not correctly tuned, but they fixed that up towards the end. Special thanks to German Gallardo who played with us in "Waiting for You" and Toņo who was going to play with us in "Default Society" but he had to leave early. Also to Jaime who didn't play bad in "Affected" quite good actually. September 3, 2003: By Mike War Yesterday unfortunately I achieved 1 year more, and I got a vast amount of cash (that's the good part) of $1700 Pesos ($180 USD) And Jayne (bass) will also put $1700 pesos (aprox) to buy a PA amp and further on some speakers ;) August 30, 2003: By Mike War Yesterday we went to a gig in the Linda Vista, after 15 days without gigs ;) We couldn't play but we saw the other bands play. There was not much time and too many bands. Anyway Vannakut played real good and all other bands! Tarmac also played good even though they took a lot of time in preparing their equipment. Ok thats all. August 19, 2003: By Mike War 4 days ago (15) we had a gig with No Retornable and we sucked because of the amp quality. Still they didnt play that bad ;) Abatida (one of the new songs) will be removed from the cd. July 29, 2003: By Mike War Back from Guadalajara, 2 new songs made up! And I have finally learned a bit more about playing piano ;) Well be waiting for some gigs soon. July 18, 2003: By Mike War Ricardo Montemayor is temporarily in the band but we will be testing him to see if he fits with our style. July 17, 2003: By Mike War Jayne and I are leaving for Guadalajara and on the way back we might be giving some gigs on the 5th and 16th. Ricardo Margain might be entering the band as keyboard player. July 13, 2003: By Mike War 2 Gigs yesterday, first at 8pm in which we played a few songs and only around 10 people went :s then the second one at 8:40 and we played around 3 songs featuring Toņo and Monko, then we played Gimme the Power, then System of a Down in which there was a "mosh pit" and I got slammed with a microphone :|. Then we let the other bands play (the ones of the gig) and then we played until 12:14, when we played Audioslave - Like a stone, White Stripes - 7 nation army. Affected, various others and ending with crimes Commited. We took 95 photos which we put a few in the website. Anyway, thanks Toņo for inviting us to play at the second gig. REHILETE and Proyecto Puentes play pretty good. July 10, 2003: By Mike war Jayne got her violin today... now all she gotta do is learn how to use it ;) heheheh! Way to go sis. June 29, 2003: By Mike War Changed the buttons to X's on the main page, fixed the design a little bit more... we fully know 5 covers now!!! We are also ready for the gig on the 4rth of July. 2 more practices comming up (Tuesday, and Thursday) and then we are going to fix up the place for the gig on Friday and practice a little more... DarkChylde's recording will be taking place around the 10th of July or further ahead of that date but it will be VERY soon... The video will be recorded by Miguel Leyva and Miguel Karkz and edited by the second. June 24, 2003: By Mike War We finally put a new posting system on the first page, we are also working on new 'corners' for all band members, and we also MOVED ALL THE BAND STUFF back to Oscar's house yesterday where we will be practicing from now on (again). We are finally finishing our last songs, possibly tomorrow we will be practicing all our 14 songs to see which ones we have completely finished and which ones not... We are still looking for bands to come to our gig on July 4! We have already like 2 or 3 confirmed bands! Thats the news for now. June 22, 2003: By Mike War DMR is fully back on track and now we are releasing completely new material! We are finally completing our 14 tracks! We have currently around 10-12 playable which sound good... Our latest track 'Crimes Commited' Band version, is one of our best songs as we mix 'lethal hardcore dark rock' with 'active rock' so it sounds kind of strange but innovative! It's one of those songs that the rythm stays in your head all day... believe me... I can't take it off now... It was inspired by Deftones latest cd and by Filter in general. There is a new intro page for the site and we fixed some things that were missing.... We are also preparing for a gig on July 4 that we might be giving in my house but it is still not 100% sure. June 16, 2003: By Michael Warner Lately DMR took a break from playing and updating the site, we are moving back to Oscar's house to play very soon as it is quite uncomfortable to play in my house as he has to bring the cymbals whenever we practice, etc... Therefore we hope it will be easier to practice over there. We just finished our video 'Punx' which was not that good, even the black and white video of 'His Last Song' was better than this one. So we are preparing to record 'DarkChylde' very soon... The scenery of this video is shown in the intro to this site. We have already chosen the place, style, and what the video will be about. In the next months, we will be leveling the band a bit more, between the members. We will also be finishing off our last songs, and recording our demo (currently we are). We are also preparing for some gigs (July 4, etc.) Stay tuned for more news. May 26, 2003: By Michael Warner Yesterday we recorded 2 music videos, and altough they sucked because we lacked good lighting, it still was a good experience. May 20, 2003: By Michael Warner Some news lately... Some changes took place with the members... check the "band" page. Jayne and I gave a 'play' or ... semi-gig at our school for mothers day (erm)... and we gave an official band gig at Fentons bar-restaurant in mall Fiesta San Agustin on the 16th of May (4 days ago) and were giving another one starting June. Oscar our drummer bought 2 new cymbals and stuff... New photos have been finally uploaded to the page... and a new 'darkish' look has also been added. Thanks to all those who helped. Sorry for removing a few sections. April 14, 2003: By Michael Warner We are doing another song right now, quite strange indeed... has many 'scales' and changes in the song, and is going to last around 7 minutes. Also Jayne Warner came up with a new idea for another song which we will be practicing very soon. We might be recording our next music video this Thursday... We already developed the script and everything we just need to get organized. The video will be of the song: Waiting for you - Featuring Chucho. March 24, 2003 : By Michael Warner New gig comming up soon with the band '4 centavos'. We also updated the main logo photo, we will be getting some new ones soon, so we are putting that edited one up for now. We also added some news, and finished the CD's page and the Forum link is a faster access now too. Many updates are being done lately, we hope you like them. March 16, 2003 : By Michael Warner The gig today was cool although we had some problems with some songs, and we also had a few problems while singing -chop suey- and our song DarkChylde... we need more practice. Later on we also tried Recording again on 'gringo's' laptop... but there was a few problems so we will try again with a mixer connected to it instead of mic's directly in. See ya! March 14, 2003 : By Michael Warner New updates to the site, I fixed up the lyrics section (Thanks to Caro Barajas for the lyrics re-writting) and we are fixing other things little by little... The Gig that we are going to on March 16 (sunday) will be cool I think... even though it's so early... at least we will be more recognized among people. March 7, 2003 : By Michael Warner The gig was pretty darn kewl everybody! 2 bands came instead of 5, and the sound wasn't that good but overall it was good enough, we hope to be doing some more practicing and stuff soon to get better... some pictures of the gig will be comming soon too... When we start selling online, of course it will be a burned cd because we are not yet releasing a cd that is made in a recording studio because we dont have enough cash to do that yet, but we will also lower the price than that of an original cd... I will tell Oscar's (Our Drummer's) brother to see if he can come to play instead, hopefully we will finish the 11 songs that same friday, or the next day, saturday, on Sunday mixing will start, and uploading to a temporary site, which I will download at a recording place and put the stuff on cd's... Thanx BadSol for the design.. yep, yesterday's band meeting was quite good, (Mario) has TONS of mp3's on his computer, I think around 1500 or some excessive number like that.
